How to order - Mediterranean Food

How to order Mediterranean – The Mediterranean diet is inspired by the eating habits of people who live near the Mediterranean Sea. When initially formulated in the 1960s, it drew on the cuisines of Greece, Turkey, Italy, and Spain. The principal aspects of this diet include high consumption of olive oil, legumes, unrefined grains, fruits, and vegetables(a whole food, plant-based diet), moderate to high consumption of fish, moderate consumption of dairy products (mostly as cheese and yogurt), moderate wine consumption, and very low consumption of meat products. Like in the Blue Zones, the latter ingredients are typically kept for celebrations and special treats which naturally result in a 90-95% whole food plant based diet. A 2017 review found evidence that practice of a Mediterranean diet could lead to a decreased risk of cardiovascular diseases, overall cancer incidence, neurodegenerative diseases, diabetes, and early death. How to order - Middle Eastern Food

How to order Middle Eastern food- The base to much Middle Eastern food consists of whole food staples such as sesame seeds, chickpeas, dates, rice, grains, honey, sumac and herbs. The earliest recipes on record also come from this area and wheat was first cultivated there (followed by rye, barley, lentils, beans, pistachios, figs, pomegranates and dates). These ingredients are fundamental for preparing food...

Is Olive Oil Good For You?

IS OLIVE OIL GOOD FOR YOU? The short answer is no.It's essentially empty calories which can make you gain weight.  We need to change the way we are accustomed to eating olive oil as the goodness from the whole olive is depleted and very few nutrients or vitamins remain intact during the pressing process while it becomes oil. In fact, for every gallon of olive oil 38 pounds of olive skins, pulp and pits are left behind as waste product. In a time where we are collectively becoming more conscious about waste…we’re surprised this fact hasn’t got more attention. The good news is that you will notice how great plant-based foods still taste without it, and know that your decision to reduce consumption...
